Manga author/artist Yoshiyuki Sadamoto has announced that the Neon Genesis Evangelion manga will conclude by the next volume.
The manga has been running since February 1995—predating the original television series—and has only 12 volumes. The series roughly follows the same basic storyline as the original television series, with a generally darker tone.
